Microsoft has announced a new special edition Xbox controller, and it looks pretty good. The Luna Shift Controller is themed around outer space and beyond. According to Microsoft’s official wording, the controller is “inspired by fantastical game worlds” and takes players to “new heights beyond the orbit of the Earth.”
The controller’s color changes from silver to gold depending on the lighting and helps give it a “stylized smoky vibe,” according to Microsoft. It has rubberized gray and black grips and is adorned with a unique pattern. Check it out below.
Like other Xbox controllers, this one also connects to the Xbox Accessories app for customized button mapping and works with Windows 10 PCs and mobile devices via Bluetooth.
The $70 USD Lunar Shift controller launches worldwide today, October 11th. This is the latest special edition Xbox controller following Mineral Camo, Deep Pink, Aqua Shift and more. Additionally, earlier this year Microsoft released a new Xbox Elite “Core” controller priced at $130.
Microsoft also partnered with Razer for the new Lunar Shift charging stand. It is made using the same color scheme as the controller. The stand is also available today for $50.
