A quirky piece of JRPG is now on Steam. This comedy-fantasy buddy cop RPG follows strange and highly asocial demons fighting in the streets and falling at your ear. A silly mouse creature with no idea what’s going on, your job is to climb a tower, but you’ll need to make friends (and foes) to get there.
The real selling point here is that it has decent laughs and writing, but best of all is that it looks pretty cool. are plentiful, and the game looks to offer gangster rats, investigator chickens, and a variety of other weird inhabitants in spades.
So that means there’s a man like a water buffalo, right? With a boombox? They dress like 80’s street crews. It’s goofy as hell and I love it.
Playable characters include “a self-loathing party chicken, a disembodied diva, a ruthless sausage thief, a totally jacked luchador duck, a self-righteous robber baroness, and some kind of weird purple rabbit/ Including the goblin/rat stuff..” Nice, I really like that list.
The plot is about a crew of strange misfits fighting their way across the city to a tower to make you, the rat thing, go home. I say fight because it seems like most people on the streets of this place want to fight. To me, it’s like the Warriors were set within a series of rejected Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles villains. bebop and rocksteady (opens in new tab).
you can play Demo of My Familiar on Steam (opens in new tab)A little too relaxed for my taste. Turn-based combat could be a little more complicated. I especially like the graffiti-inspired menu screens. My Familiar is one of those guys I keep an eye on.
