Incredible cosmic power. Tiny living space. We are pleased to present you the new Acer Predator Orion X. This is an Nvidia RTX 4090 powered gaming PC packed into a tiny 15.4 liter box.
Oh, and you also get an Intel Core i9 13900KS clocked up at 6 GHz. ah. It’s all possible thanks to water cooling. The CPU gets a fairly standard 240mm AIO solution, but connecting that RTX 4090 to liquid cooling took a bit more work.
Basically, Acer makes a complete liquid cooling solution look like a standard GPU air cooler, but the size of the RTX 4090’s cooler is obviously pretty huge. seems a bit shorter than the typical 12-foot RTX 4090.
More generally, the Predator Orion X’s mini-ITX box is divided into three zones to control heat and allow access to the inside of the dense package. Zone 1 is for CPU PSU and SSD, Zone 2 contains GPU and dual SATA slots, and Zone 3 houses a 240mm AIO cooler.
In terms of styling, the all-metal chassis has a sci-fi space capsule vibe and plenty of pop-off panels. Other highlights include a hot-swappable M.2 slot, up to 32 GB of DDR5 RAM, and some relatively modest RGB lighting.
As for pricing, the fun starts at $2,999, but Acer hasn’t released the full damage RTX 4090 version of the Predator Orion X. but. Still, as these things go, this looks like a particularly well-engineered endeavor.
Meanwhile, Acer has also announced that it is entering the action with its 34-inch ultrawide OLED gaming monitor. The Acer Predator X34 V looks very likely to be based on the same Samsung QD-OLED panel as the Alienware AW3423DW (opens in new tab) and Philips Evnia 34M2C8600 (opens in new tab) .
A slight stumbling block is that Acer is priced at $1,299. This is significantly higher than its competitors.
It is difficult to calculate what justifies that premium position. If you get a product that looks like an Alienware product but costs more than the Alienware product, you should re-evaluate. But perhaps Acer is doing something special and different to justify the price.
