Assassin’s Creed Multiplayer It’s set to return in the form of a standalone game codenamed Invictus, potentially free-to-play. You can be forgiven for being confused between all the Assassin’s Creed games announced yesterday, and while it’s long been rumored that Infinity is a live-service game, it’s certainly true that it’s actually a hub rather than a game. Doesn’t help. Also, the details about the hub are still scarce. Nevertheless, Project Invictus brings multiplayer back into the franchise.
Assassin’s Creed multiplayer may bring heroes from the past back
talk IGN, Infinity project leader Marc-Alexis Côté said it’s too early to say what business model Ubisoft will apply to Invictus, but making it free to play is something that could be considered. there is not. “The plan for Invictus’ business model is not yet finalized, but it is possible. [that it will be free-to-play],” he said. In addition, Invictus has the potential to revive past heroes and enemies.
“I think the concept art for Invictus hints at the possibility of crossover characters from different eras,” continued Côté. “So I think you can see the intent there to allow Invictus to bridge our various games again.” It wasn’t even done, but it was part of the presentation that was distributed to the press.
It’s unclear what platform Invictus will be on and when it will be released, but from the sound of things, Mirage is the only Assassin’s Creed game to be released within the next few years. Considering I’m not ready to speak yet other than confirming, it seems like a long way off.
In other news, Assassin’s Creed Mirage will cost $50 on all platforms, and Ubisoft has denied rumors that it’s working on an Assassin’s Creed 1 remake.
