We’re just two months away from the March 21st release of Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories & the Envisioned Land. Can you think of a better way to acknowledge that than with a new exploration, synthesis, and combat trailer from KOEI TECMO America and Gust?

The four-and-a-half minute trailer focuses heavily on the world of Aladiss and the various ways you’ll help Yumia navigate through it…including by motorcycle. The trailer touches upon the new synthesis method, too, and shows off what appears to be a robust battle system.

Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories & the Envisioned Land follows the adventures of Yumia Liessfeldt and her companions as they set off on a journey to unravel the mysteries behind the cataclysm that destroyed the once great continent of Aladiss, resulting in alchemy becoming taboo. In her quest, Yumia will be assisted by Flammi, a flying, self-confident traveling companion who once belonged to her mother. Yumia will also encounter many different characters throughout her travels including Licht, a highly skilled informant; Wilma, an anthropologist with a passion for the culture of Aladiss; Erhard, the leader of the Research Team; and the Alber, a small and friendly tribe who live in various parts of the world.

Throughout Yumia’s adventures, players will explore dungeons and ruins in search of hidden treasures including “memory vials” – remnants of the past that will allow them to consult certain information on the field such as the location of relic treasure around them. “Memory vials” can also be dismantled to obtain rare materials which are useful for synthesis.

By using the treasure trove keys found during their journey, players will be able to access precious treasures. They can find “trait crystals”, which can be used on items or equipment to improve performance from treasure chests. As they venture into Aladiss, fans will also find “mana geysers” which will release “particles” needed to unlock new synthesis recipes.

One of the more interesting new twists is the inclusion of “manabound areas.” Entering these areas will gradually deplete players’ energy, making it impossible to run while also reducing abilities in battle. Discovering and restoring landmarks will clear these areas and improve ease of exploration within them. Of course, companion- and story-driven quests will provide reason to explore these areas and unlock the rewards therein.

As expected, there are multiple ways to get your hands on the game in March. In addition to the standard edition, players can pre-order the PREMIUM BOX exclusively through the NIS America Store. This package includes the base game, Yumia’s precious stuffed animal, an artbook, a set of six decorative keychains, a CD with extra tracks, and an official short story and accompanying translation booklet.

Regardless of whether you go with the physical or digital edition, buying the game up to two weeks after release will get you the “Athlete of Memories” early purchase costume for Yumia, the “Floating Object of Memories” costume for Flammi, and the unique “Training Wrist Weight” equipment.
