The PlayStation team is pleased to partner with Red Bull for the second year of Red Bull Capture Point, Red Bull’s virtual photo contest. Following the success of last year’s competition, Red Bull Capture Point has gone global by welcoming additional markets to join him in 2022, with budding photographers from nine countries participating in his one-off in New York City. Gaming is the ultimate visual medium, giving every player the chance to see fantastical worlds from a unique perspective. From exploring futuristic landscapes to driving vehicles you’ll never own in real life, there’s a lot you can’t do in a game. As technology improved, so did people’s ability to capture these worlds and experiences through photo modes and in-game screenshots. The best of them are celebrated at Red Bull Capture Point.
This year, we asked the creatives to showcase their skills in Guerrilla’s stunning open-world adventure Horizon Forbidden West and Polyphony Digital’s gorgeous racing sim Gran Turismo 7*. I’m looking for beautifully arranged shots. Take a snap and do your best!
Aspiring photographers can submit their captures to four categories, each representing a different subject. There are also regional Best in Show overall winners. Each category will be open for his two weeks and has its own requirements. Red Bull Gaming Social Media Visit the competition website a few days before entry begins. To participate, the gamer must share a screenshot via his PlayStation Network to her Twitter. This hashtag uses the official Red Bull Capture Point hashtag, which varies by region.
To select the winners, a panel of expert judges ranks the submissions by category, based on thematic interpretation, technical execution, and uniqueness of the concept. Alongside this, Kate Reed (@kaytanaa, USA), Petri Lev Arahti (@Berduu, Sweden), and Lead Judge Mike Bromely (@TheFourthFocus, us).
One Best in Show winner from each country, nine in total, will be invited to an exhibition in New York City, where all costs will be paid, including a workshop with a professional photographer, to develop their skills.
The winner will also receive an amazing Red Bull prize packincludes PlayStation 5 consoles, official peripherals and other goodies.
Red Bull Capture Point is open to aspiring photographers from Argentina, Belgium, Canada, Chile, France, Holland, UK, USA and Sweden.
