Be Kind. Be Clever. Be Radical. I started making KreatureKind because I wanted to tell a different kind of story – one where kindness prevails, and where changing the world means not only rolling up your sleeves but also opening your heart. In a world that sometimes feels too loud and too cynical, I hope…
Yakuza 0: Director’s Cut was one of the many third-party launch titles for the Nintendo Switch 2. Originally released in 2015, this prequel to the long-running Yakuza series tells the origin stories of protagonists Kazuma Kiryu and Goro Majima. The Director’s Cut moniker indicates a range of enhancements, including new cutscenes, graphical and audio improvements, and other quality-of-life updates that help this become the definitive version of the game. Helldivers 2 launched in February 2024 to critical acclaim, winning a multitude of awards, including Best Ongoing Game and Best Multiplayer Game at The Game Awards. Aside from some server issues resulting from the sheer number of players attempting to access the game, Helldivers 2 launched without a hitch… until May 2024, when it was announced that, going forward, PC players accessing the game via Steam would be required to create a PlayStation Network account. The backlash was swift and intense, with the game’s Steam user score dropping dramatically as PC users aired their frustrations. Two days after the announcement,…
Ruffy and the Riverside has always looked rather striking with its 2D characters in a colourful 3D world, and while its aesthetic is a strength, the game itself doesn’t really match it. This is an open-ended 3D platformer with a unique swap mechanic, which lets you copy certain textures and apply them to other objects — turning water into lava, for example. It’s a great idea and very novel early on, but sadly feels underutilised in the grand scheme of things. It never really evolves beyond quite basic puzzle-solving, and feels oddly limited. You can only copy specific textures, and…
