A little over ten years ago, a friend and I graduated college and were scattered across the state filling up our first fucking apartment and my parents’ basement. Almost every day, I came home after work. Battlefield: Bad company 2.
this was before fortnite, when the default guy online hang zone was Call of Duty. But for us Bad Company 2 (and eventually battlefield 3) makes sense. This series is a great mix of geeky mechanical depth and totally free-flowing slapstick sandbox action that made me look forward to coming back night after night.
Apparently I’m not the only one with fond memories of this particular era of Battlefield. battle bit remastered It’s been blowing up the Steam charts lately. The game’s promotional art pays homage to his early 2010s Battlefield box art, and the gameplay further emphasizes the series’ contrast between idiots and shimmies.
The first thing you’ll notice is that it looks as if the game is embedded. roblox. The character model is a blocky little cartoon man with rudimentary animation, but the soundscape adds to the realism with loud, punchy gunshot sounds. The map is untextured, flat shaded, but geometrically complex. The building is fully accessible. That means every window in a crowded city block can become a sniper’s nest. You can punch through walls to expose enemies, escape quickly, or level entire buildings.
even felt An example of a game is the old Battlefield. contrast. The devs have incorporated geeky sim elements, but only the ones that make it more fun. Weapons have multiple firing modes and detailed recoil models, and magazines must be pulled out for accurate ammo checks. Bullet drops and travel times make long-range engagements a satisfying test of skill, but close-quarters engagements can still be nerve-wracking full-auto spray-and-play shootouts.
Very fast time to kill. Many die after a few shots in the right place. However, you can also respawn infinitely as long as you have teammates nearby. Vehicles have detailed physics models and high skill caps, but a helicopter cruises with his six blocky infantrymen dangling from high-speed ropes, and a C4-decorated quad bike slams into enemy tanks. You can see how it rushes in.
battle bit remastered is still in early access and has some early access junk. Simple visual designs are usually fine, but flat shading can obscure geometry and obscure distances. Game mode also needs tweaking. On large zone control maps he’s comfortable in 127v127 matches, but in tug-of-war frontlines mode he feels like a chaotic slog.
Even with its rough edges, battle bit remastered is doing a great job of bringing back felt The good old days of Battlefield. A lot has changed since 2010, and it may not be possible to bring your old Battlefield team out of retirement. But if you’re thinking of giving it a try, battle bit remastered It may be your best shot.
