Even if titles like Xenoblade Chronicles 3 and Pokémon Scarlet and Violet haven’t kept Switch busy enough this year, Bayonetta’s next move is coming this October.
If you’d like to learn more about Bayonetta 3’s story, the Australian Classification Board has detailed what’s in store for Umbra’s witches. Interestingly, ACB also notes that this description “may contain spoilers.” Strong fantasy, violence and online interactivity (MA15+ rated game). Here’s what else to expect:
Bayonetta 3 is an action-adventure game in which a human character travels through a series of fantasy environments, battling monsters called homunculus and evil known as the Singularity. Players must head to the island, Thule, to prevent the Singularity from destroying the known world.
theme The game contains fantasy themes such as monsters and supernatural beings. There is a short sequence in which characters remove their minds to increase their power.
violence Violence consists of close combat in a fantasy setting, using guns, blades, and other weapons. Gameplay and cutscenes may contain blood detail.
The same rating also mentions online interactivity, in the form of shared leaderboards. This appears to include the ability to upload scores for “specific chapters” within the third game. It is currently unknown if the game will support additional online features.
Bayonetta 3 was rated by the ESRB last month, highlighting mature content and in-game purchases.
