BioWare veteran Mac Walters, lead writer on Mass Effect 2 and Mass Effect 3 and production editor on Dragon Age: Dreadwolf, has left the company after nearly two decades in the studio.
As announced on LinkedIn, Walters has confirmed he will be leaving the studio over the weekend. Walters first began his career as a writer for Jade His Empire at BioWare before taking his senior writing role on the original Mass His Effects. After that, Walters served as his lead writer on Mass Effect 2 and 3. Most recently, he was the creative director for Mass Effect Legendary Edition, one of the best EA Play games included in Game Pass Ultimate, and was the production director for Dragon. The last 19 years have been a life-changing experience to say the least, and the choice to leave has been a very big one. I’ve worked with so many amazing people and had the privilege of being part of some of the most amazing teams and projects.

During his time at BioWare, Walters was the narrative lead for Anthem’s “starting and early stages of development” and the creative director for Mass Effect Andromeda.
