Blasphemous 2’s announcement trailer only mentions a PlayStation 5 version, and it recently (after a leak) announced a release date of August 24th. The developer’s The Game Kitchen says that’s not all, as the team confirmed that: Blasphemus 2 PS4 A version is also in development.
Blasphemous 2 PS4 port will be released later
The studio released an update on Twitter, confirming that it has begun development on the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game. The exact release date is unknown, but it’s scheduled for fall. It’s also unclear if the PS4 and PS5 versions will be bundled together.
The first game has already been released on PlayStation 4 and will be released on the same platform in 2019. And with Blasphemous 2 coming to Nintendo Switch alongside a more recent version, and being a retro platformer with pixel art, the resource issue could have been greater. We’re not talking about the PS4 era.
There are several games released on the current generation platform before the previous generation platform. This off-the-beaten-track list includes titles like Metal: Hellsinger, Tormented Souls, Hogwarts Legacy, Marvel’s Midnight Sons, and a remake of Destroy All Humans 2. is included.
