North America/Europe
It looks like a cover for a game with a title like “Burger Time Deluxe”. A comically stressed chef, horrible food, a winding maze, and basically everything you need to know about the game at a glance. What the Game Boy cover looks like is exactly what we remember…even if that evil pickle is going to haunt our dreams for the next few days.
Japan
Wow, ok. So this is… different. To the ultimate question “where are they now?” the Japanese cover chose not to show anything about the game itself, instead hoping to shift the copy with just smiling girls and burgers. “Do you want to look happy like this? Let’s play Burger Time Deluxe only for Game Boy!”
Yes, it tells us very little about gameplay or the actual core concept, but a full 180 of marketing should be respected.
