Hello everyone. Welcome to another edition of ‘Box Art Brawl’!
Last week, poor Solid Snake got trapped in digital space and needed your help to escape. Vote for your favorite Metal Gear Solid: Ghost Babel box art. In the end, it was Europe that won 45% of the vote, despite stiff competition from North America. In Japan, on the other hand, we probably shouldn’t say too much about those dangerous Famitsu stickers.
But now that he’s out, let’s get a word from Snake himself.
snake: I need a cigarette.
Hmmm… See you soon! Let’s move on quickly. This week we take a look at his one of the greatest SNES games of all time, Mega Man X. Released in Japan in late 1993, and then making its way west in 1994, the game was an incredible success.spin-off series to mega male It thrived on its own terms. Its focus on story has earned it many fans over the years. Many of them are eager for Capcom to release the long-rumored Mega Man X9. Hmm…I see.
North America and Europe team up again for this Box Art Brawl. This is because the box art designs of the two regions are very similar. Let’s get started.
Vote in the poll below. First, let’s check out the box art design itself.
North America/Europe
North America and Europe share the exact same key art for Mega Man X. heroicIt’s an impressive piece showing off X’s upgraded armor and some of the enemies you’ll face as you progress through the game.
It’s a small touch, but I also really like the way the X’s left foot pops out of the bottom frame. The main logo is also the same as the North American release at the top. literally – Makes this a solid contender!
Japan
The Japanese box art for Mega Man X, or whatever you prefer, the Mega Man X box art is perhaps a little more traditional approach compared to the Western releases. There are a lot of them (for those unfamiliar with the series, these are effectively boss characters in various stages, similar to the Robot Masters in the OG Mega Man series.).
Furthermore, the figure of Zero! Wow! Yes, perhaps the breakout star of the Mega Man X series will make a well-deserved debut in Japanese box art design, and this fact alone might be enough to convince a few voters.
Thanks again for participating in Box Art Brawl! Vote below and let us know in the comments which box art you prefer!
Thank you for voting! See you at the next Box Art Brawl.
