Original work [Fri 16th Dec, 2022 17:00 GMT]: Merge Games announced today that upcoming psychological thriller Bramble: The Mountain King will bring chills to Switch in physical form next year.
After releasing popular demos on PC and PS5 over Halloween weekend (who would have thought), developer Dimfrost Studios has decided to make the full leap to consoles sometime next year. You have to hype yourself up for this.
Based on a fable from Norse mythology, Bramble sees you playing as Olle, a boy who sets off into a spooky forest to search for his sister. Of course, these spooky forests are full of nasty stuff (again, who would have thought of that?!) and in the next game, trolls, demons, witches, and we don’t want to run Many other things have to get away from… away in the first place.
Based on the trailer above, you can’t help but feel the atmosphere of Little Nightmares in abundance from now on, with giant monsters creeping up from the background and an abundance of little gnome-like characters. If they can take everything we love (intense atmosphere, clever storytelling) and weed out the bad (their load times), Dimfrost’s team could be on to something here. .
See below from Merge Games for some of the game’s features, along with appropriately spooky screenshots.
