Produced and starred by the executive Billy Eichner, this romantic comedy follows a troubled Bobby as he pursues a relationship with Aaron Shepard (Luke MacFarlane). It was her one of the first gay romantic comedies released by a major studio to openly feature her leading LGBTQ cast.
From our review:
Eichner’s best when his frenzy was fanned by more organic means. It’s about pushing aside hordes of clubgoers (“They don’t stop VOGUEING!”), and when Aaron’s mother, an elementary school teacher, says he’s too young to learn in second grade, his last words are: It can mean realizing the things you can’t say. Weird history. He’s also, after all, a pretty sweet romantic lead with a nice singing voice, even if that means (like some kind of complicated subversion). Lin-Manuel’s “Love is Love, Love is Love” Speechon how “love isn’t really love”) remains ambiguous at best.

school of good and evil, Based on Soman Chainani’s 2013 novel of the same name, the 2022 fantasy film reads like the premise of the Harry Potter series fed through a juice processor. Replaces “Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry” with “School of Good and Evil”, replaces Harry Potter and Draco Malfoy with Sophie and Agatha, two of her childhood girlfriends, Professor Clarissa Davy (Kerry Washington) and Lady Leonora Lesso replace with (Charlize Theron) Minerva McGonagall and Severus Snape and voila – same great taste of YA fantasy without the problematic pulp!
From our review:
school of good and evil is a fairy tale for those who love fairy tales. It’s a fairy tale about a wizard exiled girl who can be a hero, and a girl who wants to be a princess who falls in love with her inner dark side. A fairy tale for those who know her one of the most powerful and underrated forms of true love is the friendship between two of her teenage girls. For those who scribbled lavish tales about princesses and witches in the margins of their middle school notebooks and reread retellings of fairy tales over and over again, every minute is a joy.

From our review:
Keeping the cartoon style bullet train Just as Olkewicz’s intricate script ping-pongs between past and present, we’re committed to making sure that its core cast makes as much of an impact as possible through its quirkiness and battle. The film is presented as a mystery. There’s a John Wick-esque legend of a Russian gangster who rose through the ranks of the Japanese underworld, and it’s tied into several characters’ backstories. A Goldberg machine, each of which activates in turn, pausing every now and then to flip another inanimate object. Inevitably, it will bite someone in the buttocks – usually a ladybug.

A young woman named Bee (Maria Bakalova) and her girlfriend Sophie (Amandra Stenberg) are invited by Sophie’s friends to a hurricane party at a secluded mansion. Playing the Murder Mystery Party game, the group quickly learns that the real killer is among them.
From our review:
body body body Start playing as compressed scream, sped up as if the filmmakers believed they were playing for a generation that can’t keep both eyes on a full-length feature film. The filmmakers make a compelling choice to accelerate both gore and absurdity in parallel. Rather than satire giving way to the tension of a horror movie, the accusations and defensiveness grow louder and more ridiculous as the characters feel more in danger. At some point, the deadly danger is punctuated by an equally shocking betrayal that one friend may be listening to another podcast with disgust.
