At the turn of the new millennium, Sega developed a game called Cosmic Smash. It now has a selection of Japanese and European arcades before its Japan-only release on consoles.
Set in a clean, minimalist space brought to life by music and graphic design, the game was a unique blend of sports and puzzle action. Think low gravity squash meets block breaker. A true journey to the edge of space and time.

The game seemed to come out of nowhere, but quickly stood out as an icon of design and style through the ages. He is one of those unusual games that look, sound and feel like you’ve never played before.
The game felt like it was from another world, but it fully embraced the most basic parts of what makes a game great. If you want to travel to a virtual world, it’s this world. A place to relax while traveling. Inviting uncluttered, effortlessly stylish spaces, free from the stress, noise and glitz of the daily grind. .

This world had to move to VR, but building a beautiful world requires talented people.
During our planet’s lockdown, I teamed up with a dream team of people whose jobs I admire.From VR pioneers Wolf & Wood, who I’ve been building the game The Last Worker for his PS5 and his PSVR2 Top Designers Corey Schmitz (Rez Infinite, Sound Shapes) and Arkotype (Polytron), Musicians Ken Ishii (Rez Infinite) and Danalogue (The Comet is Coming, Soccer 96), Art Director Rob Davis (The Motherless Oven) and Sound Designer Dan Pugsley (Aruba: Wildlife Adventures).
Together we set out to reimagine a beloved classic for VR and online gameplay. Amazingly, Sega put their trust in us.
Here is the first look at our game, C-Smash VRS.
VRS stands for VR and Versus. You can try both when we release the C-Smash VRS demo for PS VR2 on the PlayStation Store on March 23rd. This can be enjoyed with other players online or in solo training mode. We can’t wait to show you the virtual reality you’ve always dreamed of.
