Microsoft recently offered Sony a 10-year deal to keep Call of Duty and other Activision games on PlayStation consoles as a sweetener to smooth out the planned Microsoft/Activision deal. Not only will the player be able to play these games on his PS4 and PS5, but the Call of Duty franchise will also be included as part of his PS Plus.
What’s included in the Call of Duty PS Plus 10-year contract?
Microsoft offered Sony a 10-year deal to keep Call of Duty from becoming an Xbox-only franchise if Sony acquired Activision. This means that every future console game released within that period will be available on his PS5, his future PS6 console, and possibly his PS4 as well.According to the sources I spoke to bloombergthe deal also allows Sony to include Call of Duty games in its PS Plus Extra and PS Plus Premium subscription services.
Sony has so far refused to accept the deal, despite having approval from both Nintendo and Valve. But the acquisition has become much more complicated in recent weeks as the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) announced it would block the move. Discussions are still ongoing.
