It’s rare to see Nintendo partners handing over franchise keys to outside organizations, but we’re seeing more and more of them. The most obvious example of this is the partnership between Nintendo and Universal on both Super Nintendo World and the Super Mario Bros. Movie, but there are other smaller examples, such as the official Legend of Zelda Escape Room experience. I have. Mercer’s involvement in both Critical Roll and Tears of the Kingdom definitely helped get this one-shot tabletop RPG off the ground.
The partnership with Nintendo is another partnership to add to Critical Roll’s ever-growing list of achievements, including partnerships with Amazon Studios on shows such as The Legend of Vox Machina and the upcoming animated adaptation The Mighty Nain. includes a multi-year exclusivity agreement.
