Free-to-play FPS CrossfireX is the next chopping block, with the team announcing that the servers will be shutting down in May, and campaign content (which thankfully hasn’t achieved anything) has already been delisted.
CrossfireX launched less than a year ago, and FPS has apparently run out of last bullet. Smilegate has announced that the F2P shooter will force X to make a massive graveyard jump on May 18, when the servers will be permanently shut down. The game’s campaign, set to end Game Pass in a few weeks, has been removed from sale, but it appears to still be available for download via Game Pass at the time of writing. A free client also appears to be still available at this time.
CrossfireX bites the bullet in May
CrossfireX certainly wasn’t one of the best free Xbox games to play, with a rather harsh user rating of 2.38/5 TA suggesting that many players wouldn’t be sad to see behind the scenes of the shooter. Aim. It’s not exactly hard, with 3 sets of cumulatives and a platinum-style “unlocks everything else” achievement in the 12 achievement clip, but playing 100 games is probably earlier than that. You’ll want to go to Shutdown. After this time the game will no longer be playable and the lot will be abandoned.
of Official site Please note that players who purchased in the last two weeks may be eligible for a refund, and no new content will be added to the game between now and the May shutdown.
Are you disappointed to see CrossfireX gone, or even more disappointed to have to play more CrossfireX in the next 3 months?
