The next episode of House of the Dragons will feature a 10-year time jump, recasting the roles of Aricent and Raenira, plus baby Aegon II Targaryen will grow up. It has been revealed that an actor from a famous actor family will play the role.
The son of Doctor Who star David Tennant and grandson of another Doctor, Pete Davison, Ty Tennant plays teenage Aegon in House of the Dragons.
Tennant has previously appeared in the movie Tolkien and TV shows Doom Patrol and War of the Worlds. House of the Dragon is arguably his biggest role to date. You can catch a glimpse of Tennant from House of the Dragon in the Episode 6 trailer below.
He won’t be playing Aegon forever. Because another timejump will have Tom Glyn Carney playing the part according to Aegon’s age. Entertainment Weekly.
As for the other recasts, Emma Darcy and Olivia Cooke are stepping in to play Raenira and Alicent respectively, replacing Milly Alcock and Emily Carey, who played their teenage counterparts in the first five episodes.
The next episode of House of the Dragons premieres this Sunday, September 25th. The show is currently skyrocketing, with each episode averaging over his 29 million viewers.
HBO has ordered a second season of House of the Dragons, but we don’t yet know when it will air.
The show is currently competing with another well-known fantasy series, Amazon Studios’ The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, which reached 25 million viewers in its first episode.
