Dead Island 2 does support AMD’s FSR2 and FidelityFX Contrast Adaptive Sharpening, but its FAQ contains the bizarre claim that it “does not support performance-enhancing software.” Deep Silver doesn’t specify what exactly that means, but it’s speculated that it refers to Nvidia’s DLSS, which isn’t mentioned in the specs or FAQs. It doesn’t make much sense to call Nvidia’s upscaling technology simply “performance-enhancing software” when AMD’s FSR is nearly identical. In any case, the key here is that his DLSS is unsupported. disappointing.
Includes a “streamer mode” that blocks licensed music (although music from the opening cinematic is not blocked and should still be monitored). There is also a 3-player co-op mode, but cross-play is not supported.
While some Dead Island fans on Twitter felt the listed specs were a little steep, our bigger concern lies with the game itself, which has struggled through a decade of messy development.
