Kojima Productions Partners with Hammerstone Studios to Bring Hit Video Game Death Stranding (opens in new tab) to the big screen. The film adaptation will feature “new elements and characters” from the world of Death Stranding, the game with his director Hideo Kojima, Bill and Ted Face the Music, Barbarian, and Boy Kills World.
“I couldn’t be more excited about this new partnership with Hammerstone Studios,” Kojima said in a statement. “This is a pivotal moment for the franchise and we are really looking forward to working with them to bring Death Stranding to the big screen.”
Lebovici said, “I am thrilled and honored to have the opportunity to partner on the first film adaptation of the brilliant and iconic director Hideo Kojima.” Unlike , this one will be much more intimate and grounded: our goal is to redefine what a video game adaptation can be when you have creative and artistic freedom. This movie will be the real work of Hideo Kojima.”
Details of the Death Stranding game, including plot, cast and release date, have not yet been announced, but Kojima Productions said development on the project is “going at a rapid pace.”
