Both Destiny and Destiny 2 started experiencing issues after yesterday’s maintenance. Players noticed they were stuck on the matchmaking screen in all modes. Some players had an additional issue where they couldn’t even complete an activity solo without disconnecting, according to Weasel’s error his code seems to be the most common. Unsurprisingly, people aren’t too thrilled about how long things have been on hiatus, especially so close to the end of the season. a forum user Posted (opens in new tab)response to . reddit thread (opens in new tab) As for maintenance, most of the time it seems to vent its frustration with constant weasel errors, making it nearly impossible to solo or head into a pre-made fireteam. Players are also messing around with people’s inventories, noticing that every time they disconnect they are reset to their pre-maintenance state.
This is a pretty serious issue, and it’s hard to remember a time when Destiny 2 was so broken. This is not the best time for Bungie shooters either, as they’ve been facing a fairly steep player decline lately. Of course, it doesn’t help that it’s a five-year-old game and is in the middle of a release like Modern Warfare 2 or Overwatch 2, but it doesn’t help that the servers don’t work straight out either. Hopefully is underway, players won’t have to wait too long to get these final season challenges.
