One year has passed since the launch. In honor of this, we are happy to bring you our biggest update yet, Anniversary He update. Thanks for your amazing support, we have extended the Kena experience with many new features such as New Game+, Charmstones, Spirit Guide Trials, Kena Outfit, Accessibility Features and more.
The Anniversary Update is a free update available to all PS4 and PS5 players old and new on September 27th.
During development, we aimed to expand the experience by adding more unique features and gameplay while listening to what our fans have to say. New Game+ is doing great. When a player completes a game, he is given the chance to convert his save file into his New Game+ game. From there, they resume Kena’s journey all Face redesigned, more challenging combat encounters with previously unlocked abilities, upgrades, outfits, corruption, etc. Combat encounter adjustments also include new enemy types unique to NG+ . Many bosses even have some extra phases.
Charmstones are another big addition coming with the September 27th update. Individually Equipable – Each of these unique collectibles provides different adjustments to Kena’s stats and abilities. Some Charmstones contain advantages and disadvantages, allowing players to strategize how they want to deal with specific enemies and challenges. Rare Cursed Charmstones are intended for players who want to take a serious challenge by attacking the game with their abilities lowered. can do. Some are related to another great addition, the Spirit Guide Trials.
Spirit Guide Trials challenge players’ skills in an all-new game mode accessed through the Shrine of Masks. By building a variety of replayable challenges, we wanted to encourage all players to experiment with different combinations of upgrades to deepen their combat experience. Spirit Guide Trials fall into his three categories: Obstacle Course, Wave Defense, and Boss Reflect.
Each trial can be played as many times as desired by the player and contains different objectives to complete within that particular trial. For example, in an obstacle course, players navigate a course designed to test accuracy, timing, and platforming, focusing on Kena’s primary abilities: Bow, Bomb, and Dash.
Wave Defenses pit players against multiple rounds of increasingly difficult enemies. They must think strategically and progress at their own pace through multiple waves of unique scenarios with limited healing opportunities. We’ve got some very exciting and grisly enemy combinations here, so be prepared.
Finally, Boss Reflects allow players to revisit their favorite boss fights and perfect their tactics. We love the excitement of small-scale combat encounters, but we especially love good boss fights. We wanted to make sure the player had the chance to retry these exciting events to his heart’s content, try out new approaches, and become a true master in his one playthrough.
what about the rewards? By completing Trials, players will have the opportunity to unlock Kana’s outfit. Each outfit is inspired by one of her characters she meets on her journey. Completing bonus objectives in each trial unlocks a color variation for each outfit, as well as some unique Charm Stones.
There are also exclusive outfits for owners of the Deluxe Edition.
We hope that players will enjoy replaying or continuing Kena: Spirit Bridge playthroughs, with constant reminders of the special characters that help Kena on her journey as a spirit guide. (Plus, I think it looks pretty cool too). Even though we’re testing them, every time I play with a different costume, I’m reminded of helping Beni and Saiya find their siblings for the first time, or learning how to lead a bow from Luz.
We can’t wait to show you all these additions in our Anniversary Update on September 27th.
