The iconic Double Dragon brothers are back for the tag team. In another New York City, the year he is 199x. The city is devastated by nuclear destruction, chaos and crime reign in the city. Billy and Jimmy Lee, unable to sit still and allow this chaos to spread further, (with the help of some new and familiar faces, and of course you) 4 Do it yourself to free their city from one major criminal gang.
Dynamic level select
Once you’ve decided to fight the big four gangs, it’s up to you to decide in which order. Each gang takedown is a mission, and the order in which you choose the missions itself shapes how you experience the level. The first level is the simplest in terms of number of mission sectors, enemies, and overall difficulty. When a gang is defeated, all remaining gangs level up, hideout sizes increase, and stronger and tougher minions are recruited. This allows you to experience different sectors of missions through multiple playthroughs.
Purchasable Upgrades
In-game cash can be earned while the game is in progress. Cash can be earned in several different ways, including performing special KOs, completing bonus objectives, and maintaining combos and special KO chains.
This cash can be used for randomly purchasable upgrades for individual tag team fighters. For example, one fighter can be upgraded to increase melee attack damage to strengthen the duo, while the other fighter can upgrade the speed at which his SP auto-regenerates. Conversely, you can save cash to buy Revive, and convert remaining cash into tokens at the end of your playthrough.

Tokens are in-game currency that can be used to purchase additional unlockable items. Earned by redeeming remaining cash at the end of a playthrough. Once he has collected enough tokens to spend, he heads to the shop where he can spend his hard-earned chips.

Having trouble building your token stash? If so, it may be time to change your gameplay experience. Starting a new game gives you the option to tweak the difficulty of the game ( (including the ability to play permadeath for additional challenges and endless continuations). The harder the playthrough, the lower the cash-to-tokens exchange rate, and the more tokens you might win at the end.
