After revealing the cover art for the upcoming EA Sports FC 24 earlier this week (which didn’t impress PC Gamer’s resident soccer fan Rich Stanton particularly well, he said it was “the best game I’ve ever seen”). , Electronic Arts has released the first trailer for the game, revealing it will be released on September 29th. Alternatively, if you want the Ultimate Edition, you’ll have to wait a week before that.
For Electronic Arts, EA Sports FC 24, the first football game after FIFA, is very important. The FIFA series has been the company’s most reliable cash cow for many years. That’s why EA needs to get it right, and in that light, I can see why they chose the “group photo” approach to the cover art. The diversity of players, teams and leagues is clearly meant to highlight that names could be: It’s changed, but the gang is all here.
The new trailer takes a similar all-out approach, and the uneven reaction in the YouTube comments is similarly varied. “EA never lets us down when it comes to letting us down,” wrote one user. Another responded, “If you’re worried about what changes might happen, don’t worry, EA has you covered!” A number of commenters criticized the ostensible gameplay for not including any gameplay in his trailer, but pointed out that the actual gameplay can be seen from 1:19 to 1:21 of him in the video. Some people do. Despite the irony, they are not wrong.
Mind you, I don’t think bad cover art, a weak trailer, or even a not-so-good game release will sink EA’s massive football series. My guess is that the momentum of FIFA’s 30-year game will give fans a little room to correct course before they really throw their hands up in 2025 or 2026.
Still, it seems a little strange that with so much at stake, the pre-release hype has fallen so far in the middle. I can’t guarantee how people will react to things, and the internet is known to be a fickle place, but it doesn’t seem to have the attention to detail you’d expect. Rather, it seems like EA is treating this like an annual addition to an old and reliable franchise.
EA Sports FC 24 will be available on PC. vapor and the epic game storeand through it EA Play Pro subscription service. The Standard Edition will go live on September 29th, while the Ultimate and EA Play Pro Editions will go live on September 22nd.
