The road to launch of PlayStation VR2 is in full swing, and you should try out exciting new games and experiences that you can explore with the next-generation virtual reality headset. As we continue our launch efforts, today I would like to briefly introduce you to some of the user experience features you will find in PSVR2.
Let’s take a look.
See-through view
With PS VR2, you can see the surroundings while wearing a headset with a new see-through function. This is useful if you want to easily see where the PSVR2Sense controller is in the room without removing the headset. Thanks to the front camera built into the PS VR2, users can switch between viewing the surroundings and viewing the PS VR2 content by pressing the function button on the headset or using the card in the Control Center. You can also use the Control Center card to quickly access other PSVR2 settings, such as adjusting the play area.
See-through views are display-only, so there are no recording options.

Broadcast yourself during playback
PS VR2’s new broadcast feature allows you to connect your PS5 HD camera to the console and shoot yourself during playback. This is a great way to show your movements and reactions during a boss battle and share those reactions with other gamers.

Customized play area
The PS VR2 play area can be customized using the PS VR2Sense controller and built-in camera. The camera allows you to scan the room, and the PS VR2 Sense controller allows you to expand and further customize the play area to suit your playstyle and room environment.
If you approach the boundaries you set during play, you will be warned that you are approaching the boundaries of the play area. You can change the settings at any time while the PS VR2 is connected. When you set a play area, the settings are saved unless you move to another play area.
VR mode and cinematic mode
In VR mode, players can enjoy VR game content in a virtual environment with a 360-degree view. The content is displayed 4000 x 2040 HDR video format (2000 x 2040 per eye), frame rate 90Hz / 120Hz.
In cinematic mode, the player can view the PS5 system and UI, as well as all non-VR games and media content on a virtual cinema screen. Cinematic mode content is displayed in 1920 x 1080 HDR video format at 24 / 60Hz and 120Hz frame rates.
