This week we have an exclusive interview with the RFN host.
We are super excited to have Radio Free Nintendo host James Jones talk about Episode 824 this week.
James Jones – Nintendo World Report: James, thank you for joining us today.
James Jones – Radio Free Nintendo: You’re welcome; thank you for inviting me.
NWR: We all want to know, what did we all talk about this week? I’m sure there are many Tears of the Kingdom.
JJ: (Laughs) I think so. We’re going to talk quite a bit about tears this week, but that wasn’t the beginning.
NWR: oh? It’s a surprise.
JJ: We thought about it, and realized that people trying to stay as pure as possible might appreciate us, including content outside of Tears. We decided to frontload it, starting with a riff on Sony’s Project Q and Konami’s naming decision. Then I asked Gui and Jon to do a new business. Editor’s Note: Co-hosts Guillaume Veillette and John Lindemann.
NWR: Project Q is so weird.
JJ: And did Metal Gear Solid 3 become Delta? fool.
NWR: So what did Guillaume talk about?
JJ: Believe it or not, he plays Guilty Gear -Strive- on Xbox and Guilty Gear on Switch.
NWR: no!
JJ: i told you!
NWR: And what about John?
JJ: Final Fantasy Pixel Remastered, especially the first game.
NWR: It’s a little more believable.
JJ: For that matter, he didn’t listen to Johnny’s appearance a few weeks ago to see if he offered any new insights.
NWR:JJ: Wow!
JJ: It’s true though. After that, I pulled some emails that were close to Tears from my inbox. Greg and I used those emails to discuss Tears instead of doing traditional start-ups. Editor’s note: Co-host Greg Leahy.
NWR: adjacent? What kind of questions were asked?
JJ: The first question was whether Monolith Soft was the best JRPG developer for the game and could they have offered a more down-to-earth storytelling style?
NWR: Is it more down to earth than a perceptual and boring world full of King Kong?
JJ: It seems down to earth to me. In a second email, I asked where the Zelda series was headed. Are we beyond “bigger is better”?
NWR: what you do with it.
JJ: It’s like John is in the room with us.
NWR: By the way, what happened to that title? [“I Dare You to Play Eye of Judgment”]It should have been John, right?
JJ: you are very sensitive We’re drafting Jon as our THE Eye of Judgment streamer on Twitch.
NWR: It seems like the worst idea I’ve ever heard. I hope so.
JJ: me too.
NWR: I look forward to hearing from you. Thank you for your participation!
JJ: you’re welcome. And don’t forget to send us an email.
