Square Enix is urging Final Fantasy 14 players to be mindful of account security after revealing it was under attack by hackers trying to access Square Enix accounts.
In a blog post, Square Enix said, “A third party is currently attempting to access the Square Enix account management system using an email address and password combination believed to have been obtained from another user. We are receiving Third Party Online Services. “

Square Enix recommends that you change any passwords you may share with Square Enix and other accounts to protect against unwanted account compromise.
Square Enix is instructing players to reset their passwords or use one-time passwords, which are temporary verifications that authenticate users with a single login.
The company says that if the hacking attack continues, it may force a password reset for all Square Enix accounts to protect personal information and data.
It’s not clear why Square Enix’s account is under attack, but it’s possible that it will continue to be updated as the situation develops.
Please double-check with IGN for updates on this matter, and double-check your password security if you have a Square Enix account.
