Responding to a question about DLC for FF16, Yoshida said the development team approached the development of the game with a complete experience in mind. Yoshida told fans, “I want to provide something that can be enjoyed 100% from start to finish without DLC.”
While Yoshida believes the FF16 development team was able to achieve its vision, he admitted that the feedback he received from “many players” revolved around potential DLC. “We accept that [feedback] Then I think about my options,” Yoshida continued. “So I hope that in the near future I can offer you something.”
Final Fantasy 16 launched to positive reviews from fans and critics alike, selling over three million copies worldwide within the first week of its release. But its sales performance has become the subject of heated debate on social media and could spell doom for the franchise.
