The next generation of The Witcher 3 continues to receive refinements and improvements from CD Projekt Red, but I thought the developer could never live up to its bold excellence of fixing grass shadows. (opens in new tab) (and thus the game itself), I was proven terribly wrong. After his eight long years, which is as long as between OG Witcher and Witcher 3, Geralt can no longer feed in the water. The days when our boy nibbled in the depths of saltwater, no more. CDPR also fixed other issues.
“With the exception of potions and decoctions, it is now impossible for Geralt to eat or drink underwater.” 4.03 patch notes (opens in new tab) Finally, he added, “While the team agreed that it might be possible to drink liquids from corked flasks, drinking a pint of ale or grilled meat in water would be overkill.”
i love this Brave and realism-minded, his CDPR developers persevered, Twelve Angry Men-style, until finally the rest of the team relented and agreed, “Yeah.” I can imagine. was It’s absurd for Geralt to pause the game underwater, eat seven pies, slap four Vigeman Champion Lagers, and then skewer a few drowners with his crossbow.now he can only do that on dry land.
From my perspective, another big change in 4.03 is the option to auto-apply Blade Oil, a small anti-monster poison that Geralt can create with his alchemy system. PC Gamer newsreader Andy Chalk was upset that this aspect of Geralt Simulation™ was smoothed out, but I’m more of an agnostic. In comparison, I definitely love how tactile and shocking the first Witcher’s alchemy was, but The Witcher 3’s Blade Oil already feels like a remnant, and I remember to check it in my inventory screen from time to time. It is a must. Why don’t you switch it on once? Optimize build?
I stopped at Crookback Marsh, and sure enough, I swung at the Drowner and my blade quickly slipped in necrophage oil. As long as you have poisons you create, the game will automatically choose the best poison for every situation.
However, according to the compilation error I received on launch, this feature didn’t seem to make my mod work properly.I’m sure the culprit was a pretty good guy. Friendly HUD (opens in new tab) mod, and I think other projects could be affected as well. Usually mod authors only have to sort these things out within days or weeks after a major patch, and I expect his 4.03 version of his FHUD to be out soon. Below are the full patch notes (excluding console specific entries).
