This new Digimon game looked like development hell for a while, but now it’s out. Unlike many recent Digimon JRPGs, this is first and foremost a visual novel, sprinkled with a bit of tactical combat. A Steam reviewer describes it as “his ASMR for ears and eyes.”

Blastronaut, which entered Early Access last week, is a side-scrolling survival and trading sim that extracts valuable resources from an endless procedurally generated underground. The underground you come across as a hybrid of Terraria and Steamworld Dig is made up of increasingly dangerous biomes. The more you explore, the more lucrative rewards you get and the more deadly the environment. Blastronaut is expected to remain in Early Access for “about two years,” during which time it will offer new locations and obstacles, as well as a steady stream of upgrades and tools to extract more effective loot.
