Hello, my name is Phil Crifo. He is the director of Tchia Games He is also the co-founder of Awaceb. We are very excited to release Tchia to the world tomorrow. This is the culmination of his five-year adventure that has been incredible for a small team making big games.
As we get closer to release, we’d like to finally see how we’ve expanded our sandbox open world formula. If you’re new to Tchia, familiarize yourself with the overview below before diving into the game on PS4 and PS5.
I’d like to share some early game tips to help you prepare for your upcoming adventures. Here are some of the top 5 items and features we use during game hours:
pachinko
Tchia’s trusty slingshot was a gift from her father, Joxu. This is the first tool you receive in the game, useful for aiming at trees, knocking down coconuts and bananas to expend and regenerate energy. It’s also a useful weapon to use against her Maano, the fabric creature that kidnapped Tchia’s father, to buy her time to find flammable items and remove them once and for all.
You can also test your aiming skills with the shooting range challenge. Reaching the top score will earn you a golden trophy. You will find them very useful for other activities.
Pachinko also leverages some unique PS5 features, such as adaptive triggers that feel the weight of the sling at your fingertips. And if you want to become an expert sniper, you can enable the motion sensor for more precise aiming. You can toggle it on and off in the menu.
ukulele
One of Tchia’s most unique features is its ukulele. Harness the power of this magical instrument with just a few strums. It’s fully playable, customizable, and a game changer too.
Gifted to Tchia by Joxu’s best friend Tre, this ukulele is versatile. Through unlockable magical tunes called Soul His Melody, Chia can influence the world around him, causing new items and animals to appear, giving him an edge in exploration and combat. The ukulele also plays a role in the game’s heartwarming story scenes and can be played along with the scripted songs.
You can even customize your ukulele to your liking when you’re resting at camp.
For those who want a little more freedom to play, Tchia’s ukulele is fully playable, allowing you to experiment with entire musical scales. Whether you want to play chords or single strings, it’s up to you to bend, pluck and tweak notes to bring out the musical wonders. We are very excited to see what you will do with this feature.

leap of the soul
From the beginning of developing Tchia, we always intended to make a game like a toy box. We designed Soul-jumping with that in mind. Soul Leap is one of Tchia’s unique powers, which can be used to control nearly any item or animal you can find in the Archipelago.
In our latest video, we explained in detail how the Soul Jump works.

Here are some new animals you haven’t seen yet.
seagull
Birds overall offer one of the strongest traversal advantages in the game. This is also why they eat up your soul meter so quickly! Jump over cliffs and reach your destination quickly using highly accessible controls. If you’re cheeky, you can use R2 to throw a nasty surprise at unsuspecting residents. Cows can do the same, but be careful as they use soul jumping and their dung is a bit unstable and tends to explode!
Dolphin
Of all the sea creatures you can own in Tchia, dolphins are probably the fastest option. Sprinting allows you to run across the ocean, and you can also do cool flips and other stunts as you jump out of the water. Fish are the best way to navigate underwater and don’t use the stamina you consume to hold your breath, giving you time to quickly scout your surroundings for valuable treasure chests and pearls.
dog (or boar!)
Most land animals have the ability to dig, which is invaluable when looking for trinkets and other hidden surprises. It’s also much faster than his Tchia on foot when you need to cover a large area faster. Cats can’t dig holes, but they have another special ability, so let’s discover it for yourself! I have 😉
crab
Crabs are slow-moving and don’t cover the ground as much as other animals, but they sure pack a pinch! Use your strong pair of shears to unlock chests for easy access!

jewelry and pearls
Trinkets and pearls are collectibles, found throughout the archipelago, and play an important role in couture, a Caledonian ritual performed as a sign of gratitude and respect for someone. Whenever there is a need to make offerings or purchase additional cosmetics, it almost always involves trinkets and pearls.
You can find many of them on your journey, and you can locate them by activating shouting spots. This will reveal more activities and collectibles around you.
Once you’ve collected enough of them, head to the nearest town or dock to see what kind of outfits and boat customization items you can unlock using them.

camera
As you travel through the archipelago, you’ll meet many residents who will help you on your journey. This is the case of Louise, a girl from Veliwere village, who is handed a camera and asked to take a number of pictures.
Tchia is all about finding joy in the little things, and the camera system is no exception. It was created to emulate the highly rewarding process of shooting on film. Choose a lens and film roll, set up a tripod with a self-timer, and strike a cool pose. When you’re shooting on film, you have to find a place where you can develop your photos and enjoy the surprise of discovering just how accomplished a photographer you are.

A final word on accessibility
This was our last look at Tchia before it releases tomorrow. We are very grateful to everyone who has been with us throughout the development of the game.At the heart of Tchia is accessibility, a philosophy that runs throughout the game in many ways.
All activities and challenges are set up such that performance is always optional and no skill is required to advance the story. If you get stuck, you can always skip gameplay segments so you can easily find out what’s waiting for you next. Plus, if you really want to, you can start your journey at any point in the story using the chapter selection menu available at the start of your adventure.
Tchia is a vibrant and colorful game inspired by New Caledonian culture. It’s a poetic coming-of-age story, but it contains scenes that aren’t meant for children. Therefore, if you want to play with your child, we recommend enabling “Family Mode”. This automatically makes the more violent or graphic scenes in the game suitable for the whole family.
I can’t wait for you to dive into Tchia! Also, if you’d like to customize Tchia and her boat to colors from other Kepler Interactive games, check out the Oléti Edition (or Kepler Customization Pack). , Contempt, Flintlock, Catquest.
