Monday’s page of letters thinks he knows why people are so bad at predicting Nintendo, as one reader thinks of Atari’s 50th anniversary.

final lesson
It’s always frustrating when a game doesn’t sell at all, and even if it does, it doesn’t stand alone, so I don’t know if I can trust it.The only thing we get is some sort of comparison to the movie and the boast of being the best-selling game of all time. For Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 top gun: Alongside the fastest-selling claims, it was compared to Maverick. So why don’t we know anyone still playing it?
I’ve played it and know a lot of people who regret buying it now, but the reaction among my friends has been completely negative, including the campaign. I’m not saying it’s popular with hundreds of people, but it’s about ten longtime Call of Duty fans. Looking online, the general mood seems to be very negative, with people upset by the new maps, modes, menus, pacing, PC crossplay, and bugs.
The bottom is still Call Of Duty, so I can enjoy it as it is, but I gave up. Life is too short, the game is too high, and I’m kicking myself. I couldn’t wait until Warzone 2.0 because at least it’s free.I imagine it all suffers from the same problem, but with even more scammers (and apparently Bad DMZ mode). The problem with digital downloads isn’t the price, it’s the inability to sell. At this point, I feel that I have learned that lesson from many people.
Modern Warfare 2 for me is a failure, and I’m not sure at this point if I care about Warzone 2.0, free or not.

new and different
very good Reader characteristics Over the weekend, on Nintendo’s likely Switch 2 plans. I think the problem with predicting Nintendo is that people don’t really predict it. We are predicting what Sony and Microsoft would do in the same situation.
Yes, if this is Sony or Microsoft, the Switch 2 is just that. A more powerful version of the same console, nothing more. But you should know by now that it’s Nintendo we’re talking about here sitting on the board ray he’s not excited about tracing or reading his Digital Foundry .
Miyamoto, in particular, couldn’t care less about all that stuff. would know the problem with the Wii U is that people thought it was just an addon/played…same game.
I don’t know how, but fixing people in that regard will be their number one priority.

I know GC is a Star Wars fan (or as much as anyone can with a highly variable quality), so I’m sure you’re watching Andor. Original trilogy. And if that doesn’t seem particularly appreciated, I’d say it’s also the best new TV show of the year, including The Lord of the Rings and House of the Dragon.
This is the most incredible slow burn with these bursts of action so well earned and dialogue from last week’s episode…just incredible. Award Winning by Andy Serkis and Stellan Skarsgård Two of the best monologues I’ve ever heard in one performance. Or at least they’d be better off with an award, or someone would get a visit from Dr. Ghost.
The reason I bring this up is, other than recommending it to everyone, do you think you’ll ever see this level of storytelling in a Star Wars game? The characters were pretty blurry. What kind of game would it take to have enough slow moments to create long dialogue sequences?
It’s nice to think that Survivor borrows from God Of War, but now that we’ve seen it in action, it might be asking for a little more.

GC: It’s pretty awesome and there are still two episodes left…

nice review of it Atari 50 collection, GC. I’m not old enough to play the original or see the Atari VCS, but I know the name and it’s instantly recognizable. It’s wild to think that a mainstream game is that old and is still being sold and played today.
Money is tight at the moment, but if this gets cheaper in the Black Friday sale, I’ll actually consider getting it. No, so it seems to be one of the few retro edits that gives some context to what the whole thing is, even if that’s the only case here.
I like the detail that I couldn’t include ET because it’s not an Atari game, but I shot a video with the programmer. This is a level of commitment that other publishers can really learn from.

am i the only one who saw that Dragon Age Netflix Show Did you immediately think of the Dungeons & Dragons cartoons of the 80’s?
Netflix is big on video game tie-ins right now, but they all seem to get cheaper and cheaper. I think Castlevania is what inspired all of this, but it wasn’t on a very big budget.
I hope we can have a game in left field before the epidemic ends. Netflix would probably consider scrapping barrels, but I’d love to see some wild Capcom tie-ins like Ghosts ‘N Goblins and Dino Crisis. Imagine
Or what about Sega comics? The person from Panzer Dragoon? Or why not do a Fallout or Elder Scrolls show?

GC: we thought the exact same thing.
hybrid version
Enjoyed Sonic the Hedgehog on the Mega Drive. Speed was important to show the power of 16 bits, and it worked in 2D. Sonic Colors was also great. Both are solid 8/10.
Sonic Frontiers is a 6/10 for me. Sonic’s speed doesn’t work at all in 3D. The camera is constantly flicking, jarring, and spinning. A game that meticulously controls speed and camera, Super Mario Galaxy proves to be a masterpiece.
Another factor that earns Frontiers a solid 6 is its somewhat depressing industrial feel and impossibly weird characters. Dr Robotnik is the weirdest kiddie catcher in the game. I feel trapped in a feverish dream where nothing makes sense, much like I did with Sonic Team Racing’s bonkers voiceovers and the strange, saturated world. It all feels wrong when the saccharine protagonist and his jingling coin collecting juxtaposition with dark industrial tones and menacing giant robots.
On the bright side, I was very impressed with the new Kirby game. He’s a 9 for me. You have a generally cheerful disposition and a sense of humor. And Bayonetta 3 will be under my tree for Christmas. It’s been a great few years gaming on the Switch, and even better if you like Sonic and Metroid.

GC: were you playing on Switch? Because there was nothing like camera issues on PlayStation 5.
defeated again
I’ve been trying out a lot of old games lately and finally landed on Vanquish. I forgot how good this game is. Combat is Gears Of War on steroids with slow-motion matrix-style mechanics.
Plus, it goes beyond the best characters and ridiculous storylines. For me, this is the perfect video game on every level. an absolute classic.

GC: it’s pretty good.
out of order
I often get questions about sequels to games whose authors haven’t played previous installments, whether it’s wise to play the previous game before the sequel. And almost uniformly, the answer is no. You don’t need to have played the predecessor, the sequel stands on its own. This is a fair enough response.
Are there any sequels that you think the original should be played first? Most sequels may continue the story and features of their predecessor titles, but they are made independently because they are made to appeal to the widest possible audience.
Even a narrative-driven game like Life Is Strange: Before The Storm is fun to play without having to play the original first, but if that makes sense, the sequel is a prequel, so it’s not. A bit of an odd example.

GC: Mass Effect is a good example. Most people can say that he sees all three of his games as one entity, but the first game was exclusive to the Xbox console and came to the PlayStation 3 until nine months after his Mass Effect 3 It’s easy to forget what you didn’t do.

RIP Kevin Conroy, The Greatest Batman Ever! I was. Maybe one day the graphics in these games will be updated, but he one thing that hasn’t changed is Kevin’s performance.

GC: Very sad news. He is the greatest Batman actor of all time, and no one has come farther, including in live action. It means that it is a typical expression.
Tinykin is my game of the year. It just scratches the collectionson itch.

hot topic of the week
This weekend’s Inbox subject was inspired by reader Neil Down.
Would you like to give your reviews a score? If so, what is your preferred scale in terms of how many points out there? Specific sites that you think you could do differently, including this one And what do you think about sites with no scores at all?
Is there anything you’d like to change about how we or others do reviews (other than timing, there’s nothing anyone can do)? Also, do you think the overall standard of reviews today is better than it used to be? What do you think of aggregator sites like Metacritic, and do you use them?
