Honda RA272 ’65
The F1 machine that brought Honda its first victory.
With innovative ideas and visionary engineering skills, Honda has achieved many technological innovations. A case in point is his first attempt in Formula 1 in 1964, when the car manufacturer was still relatively unknown. What they developed was the RA271, which adopted an aluminum shell for the body of the space frame, and mounted a 1.5L V12 engine on a rare horizontal midship. However, its uniqueness became its downfall, and it did nothing in its debut year. In 1965, Honda underwent a radical overhaul of the machine, completing the RA272. The RA272E engine was a more efficient version of his previous V12 using lighter components. By changing the structure of the rear suspension from inboard to outboard, the weight has been significantly reduced from 525kg to 498kg. At the steering wheel sat second-year Ronnie Bucknum and new driver Richie Ginther.

Citroen DS 21 Pallas ’70
A historical vision from France into the future.
Citroën devoted themselves to front-wheel drive, and this DS is their masterpiece, built using the most advanced technology available at the time. It first appeared at the 1955 Salon de l’Omobile. While many other manufacturers were still producing cars in pre-war style, the DS was an amazing vision of the future. Nicknamed the “Flying Saucer” due to its avant-garde aerodynamic body and innovative hydropneumatic suspension system. Developed by André Lefebvre, the relatively large body of 4.8m in length was designed by Italian Flaminio Bertoni, who worked on the classic 2CV. With such an advanced design, the popularity of the DS did not decline for some time. Including various equipment and engine upgrades, the car remained in production for his 20 years. In 1964, the “Pallas” grade with luxurious interior and exterior equipment was added. Later, in 1967, the car had his two round headlights replaced with his four headlights in covered units, giving it a more modern look.
