you know the drill Found another player riding a fancy mount in Orgrimmar or Stormwind. Have have it Maybe what you’re after isn’t a new mount, but one that’s been around for a while and hasn’t dropped yet.
In my case it was the Lich King’s mount, Invincible, with a drop rate of around 1%. It wasn’t just his looks. His lore also fascinated me. The fact that he was by Arthas’ side during life and after death shows a great bond. I always looked forward to the fact that I could visit the Tomb of the Invincible in the Tirisfal Glades. I wasn’t prepared for how many raids I would need to carry out to catch him.
Now, as great as Icecrown Citadel is, it’s not that great after completing the whole thing over 400 times. There are no skips like there are in recent raids, so you’ll have to make your way through all the bosses to get to the Lich King and take your chances when he drops the reins of invincibility. It’s a pain to run from place to place to clear it, especially when you know you’re likely to walk away empty-handed.
So when the reins of invincibility finally fell, I wasn’t really ready. I hadn’t thought about it when it came time to loot the . Of course, once I got over the shock, I immediately linked them in guild chat before firmly placing them on my mount’s keybind.
Naturally, I headed straight for Olgrimar, where I first found Invincibility years ago, to prowl the Valley of Power and show off my new acquisitions. Maybe he wanted to inspire other new WoW players of his to venture into years of mostly fruitless farming.
Was it worth it? absolutely. Invincible is still my ride today, but his main job these days has been endless laps around Oribos while I sit on his Discord and chat with Guildy. He can’t wait to show him the Dragon Isles. He may have to take a backseat for dragon riding for a while, but the Invincible will always be my favorite.
