The next GTA was announced in February, with Rockstar saying that the unnamed game (now called GTA 6) is “on track” in development. Rockstar’s parent company, Take-Two, is saying the exact same thing today.
“Development of the next installment in the Grand Theft Auto series is well underway, and the Rockstar Games team is committed, as the label has done with all of its work, to the series, the industry, and all of entertainment. We are determined to set the creative benchmark once again: their leading-edge release,” Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick said in today’s financial report.

There is a possibility. on scale. However, even at launch, the publication said that GTA 6 will include more interior locations than previous GTA’s.
A Bloomberg report explains that Rockstar has recently become a better, if not perfect, place to work. Full article here (opens in new tab).
We don’t know when GTA 6 will be released, but the two ‘work in progress’ comments are closer to us than The Elder Scrolls 6, which was still in ‘pre-production’ at least as of June. .
