Basically, thanks to some bizarre contracts and some very protracted legal battles, the rights to the series are split between him, the owner of the first film and the owner of the sequel.
but, screamGhostface wants you to remember that the killer in the first film wasn’t Jason, but his mother. Don’t expect them to show up or commit killings. Voorhees Variety and the like are probably pretty fertile soil for horror series.
