Capcom hosted the final Street Fighter 6 (opens in new tab) Showcase before June 2nd release. Some additional details were provided for the story-focused World Tour mode, the Fighting Grounds mode, a little training, and how the game is very beginner-friendly. Oh, Lil Wayne was there too. A (slightly spoiled) surprise was dropped at the end of the presentation that a demo had been dropped. Right after this livestream.
Unfortunately, those of us on PC and Xbox will have to wait to join the fun. The demo is only available to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 users for the first week. Everyone else will have access starting April 26th, possibly until launch.
When the demo arrives on PC, it will offer a “small peek” of the full release. A portion of the tutorial is included so that you can practice Luke and Ryu in the newly announced character guide. So it’s your chance to play with a custom character creator. You can create some absolute goblins (opens in new tab) With that said, I can’t wait to see everyone’s terrifying concoctions. It’s a blessing, considering how detailed and lengthy the customization options are.
Unfortunately not online at this time. If you missed last year’s Closed-His Beta, you’ll have to wait until the full release to peek into Battle-His Hub and play with your friends. It makes sense that the demo is single-player focused, but it’s a shame you can’t run around lobbies and terrorize your buddies with your little Gremlin creation.
The Street Fighter 6 demo includes:
- Learn basic combat mechanics from tutorials
- Practice how Luke and Ryu fight with the character guide
- Try the first moments of the world tour
- Play around with the avatar creation feature
