I’m lost
Developer: BlueTwelve Studios | Release Date: Now on sale
Swann Martin-Raget, Producer: Stray is a third-person cat adventure game set in a mysterious cyber city. We made full use of the features of the DualSense controller to make the player feel like a cat. The player can press the circle his button at any time to meow in-game, and the sound will come out of the game and the controller’s speakers. When your cat scratches a surface such as a sofa or rug, the adaptive trigger has just the right amount of pressure to push down. When knocking over objects like glass bottles, the player can feel the impact of the cat’s tiny paws through the controller’s haptic feedback. Players can feel the cats purring through the controller when they are sleeping. DualSense controllers make being a cat even more fun. We hope players will enjoy using it to explore and interact with the world of Stray.
roller drome
Developer: Roll7 | Release Date: August 16, 2022
David Jenkins Head of Q/A: I really like the DualSense controller and the little feedback I’ve been working on to give players through it. Different types of vibrations based on what’s happening to Kara (landing, grinding, dodging, being hit), audio cues that let you know when you’re low on ammo or about to be killed by a sniper, etc. there is. The level of resistance gained when each weapon’s trigger is pulled (especially the charging of his Z-11).
It all really helps players to felt Like skating in arenas, dodging rockets, grinding rails, and kicking house players in ways no other controller can. Everything has this wonderful sense of weight and physicality. Especially when something heavy hits the ground.
Season: Letter to the Future
Developer: Scavenger | TBA
David Boily, Technical Director: Season: A Letter to the Future is an immersive sensory experience that explores, unlocks, and documents the magical world around us. The player feels each pedal as he rides the bike and uses his adaptive trigger to feel the steepness of the hill. Combine this feeling with the DualSense controller’s haptic feedback to emulate the roads and trails you’ll discover on your journey. Then take a breath and use 3D audio to capture every detail of the world’s rich soundscapes. This really comes together when you’re making your way downhill, allowing you to rely on the bike’s momentum to move you while feeling the fresh air past your ears. Some of my favorite tools I use in development to invite players to
Chia
Developer: Awasebu | Release Date: Early 2023
Phil Cliffo, Game Director: We wanted Tchia’s gameplay to feel as smooth and intuitive as possible, but we also wanted to build mechanics that the most dedicated players could master and become really good at. was Tchia’s slingshot is a versatile tool that allows players to tweak things in his open world and during enemy encounters, but the game also has its own dedicated shooting range challenges. The motion control technology of the DualSense controller allowed us to implement motion-controlled aiming. This allows the player to move the controller to fine-tune his Tchia’s aim. We hope this system will help people with reduced finger/thumb mobility who are unable to move their joysticks quickly and accurately. We also found this to be a great feature for those unfamiliar with the game’s controller and for those who want even more aiming accuracy.
animal well
Development: Shared Memory | Release Date: Q1 2023Billy Basso, Solo Developer: Animal Well is a game full of secrets, some more or less obvious. Deceptively simple pixel art style, but very detailed and atmospheric. The PlayStation 5’s GPU enables both eerie shadows that obscure the landscape and lights that point the way. DualSense controllers can alert you to subtle cues your eyes may miss. Something might be lurking in the tall grass. Or, although it looks dense at first glance, it is actually hollow inside. 3D audio can indicate a threat (or hidden secret) nearby. To unlock all the mysteries of Animal Well, you must rely on all your senses.
