How to update your PS5 controller using a PC
To update a PS5 controller using a PC, users should:
- First, get the official firmware updater. here.
- Then follow the instructions to install the firmware updater.
- Launch Fireware Updater.
- When prompted, connect your PS5 controller using a USB cable. (Note: Do not remove the controller during the update process.)
- A message is displayed when the update is complete. Press “OK”.
- Your PS5 controller will be fully updated to the latest version.
It may be worth installing the Firmware Updater for future updates. Sony rolls out new DualSense patches regularly, so leaving the software installed will expedite the update process.
