For those of us down there, PAX Aus is one of the biggest conventions you’ll ever need to decorate land by the sea. The show floor is filled with exhibits from every aspect of the gaming industry, from table tops to consoles to PC games. If you want to see the coolest things the gaming world has to offer, the PAX Show Floor never disappoints.
Where PAX Aus 2022 didn’t seem so difficult was the PC build. Everywhere I looked was another wild case, or some fluoro-cooling, crystal-encrusted fans, and sometimes a concoction of all of the above. Since we were showing off, here are some of the best looking PC builds I’ve seen at Pax Aus this weekend.
Life is an array of beautiful colors and lives presented in a never-ending spectrum before us. These are the PCs on the show floor that couldn’t commit to one color, we picked them all.
There are a few pastels in the bunch that tend to give this nice ethereal clean look and a vibrant AF rainbow light. Anyway, if you’re looking to create a statement spectrum, you might get some sweet inspiration from these custom builds.
If you’re looking for a slightly more cohesive look in your build, it’s fairly easy to achieve this by limiting the colors. You can create a concise look. This way, you can choose a few colors that you really feel or choose colors that might match other setups and personalities better.
Rainbow builds were much more common at Pax Aus this year, but we saw quite a few beautiful looking PCs with a limited color palette. Often they were more eye-catching on the floor than rainbows and acted as solid beacons for my admiration. Please check the operation.
But for some people, just having a uniform color build isn’t enough. If it’s even more difficult than keeping your gear consistent with a color palette, you might be changing themes. Themed builds can and will change dramatically.I’ve seen some great ones over the years, like this Chainsaw Build (opens in new tab)or the very dramatic Aorus build currently in progress (opens in new tab).
The themed builds were the least common I’ve seen while roaming the PAX Aus floor, but they never drew a crowd. Whether you’re interested in , there’s someone always ready to create a chic-looking PC that matches your aesthetic dreams.
The last category of builds we saw all over the place were open case style PCs. They often had clear covers, but I’m not sure if it was just to keep fingers from getting sticky on the show floor. I stopped and took a look. They just want your attention.
Part of this is because they are open. This is not common, but it helps in other ways as well.Often these are a bit scattered and show more RGB than normal. I’ve seen a lot of cool cases in my travels around conventions, but there’s something about these near-flat-layout designs that makes them feel like the next generation of the future.
Of course, most of the PCs featured here are top-of-the-line builds to match the looks. Of course, you don’t have to have a fully spec-out PC beast in pursuit of great aesthetics, but it doesn’t hurt either. With new hardware coming out, or coming out soon, it’s never a bad time to think about how you want that hot new build to look. The beautiful PCs showcased at PAX Aus 2022 certainly Gave me some ideas for the future.
