You may remember how Sonic Mania developer Headcannon got involved with Sonic Origins. Now, following the announcement of Sonic Origins Plus, the “Indie Games and Utilities” developer has confirmed that it has “once again” worked with Sega to update the project this time around.

Head cannon: It’s coming – Sonic Origins Plus! We are happy to announce that we have worked with SEGA again to update this project. We know we can’t resist Sonic! Here are some of the things you can expect with Origins Plus:
Excited to hear that Sega wants to make Amy playable. We couldn’t pass up the opportunity to help her get the spotlight!NEW PLAYABLE Her character needs a new sprite. @AStartShow I’m sure they were doing some design work, @DashPadSPD managed the data.
Knuckles is now playable on Sonic CDs! As well as the addition of a playable Amy, we are pleased to offer new graphics to complement her SEGA efforts to make this possible.
In addition to Sega’s work in updating the collection, we were also able to provide some additional updates and enhancements to make the title the best possible! Thank you for your generosity.

As previously revealed, Sonic Origins will add 12 Game Gear games. Also, as mentioned above, there will be new playable characters. It will arrive on June 23rd, and this time there will be a physical release.
