As spotted by Tech4Gamers, some recent filings from Microsoft related to the UK’s Activision Blizzard acquisition investigation claim Wolverine will be released in 2023.
In the document, Microsoft noted how PlayStation has a “large portfolio of high-quality, exclusive content” and argued that the latter would not be significantly affected by the acquisition. Continuing to focus on the range of exclusive titles coming to the console, PlayStation also has a number of first- and third-party exclusive titles slated for launch in 2023, including Spider-Man 2, Wolverine, Horizon and Finale. Fantasy XVI and Forcepoken.”
Insomniac is also developing Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and assured fans this week that the game will still release in 2023, but Wolverine currently has no release window. So the inclusion of this title from Microsoft is odd. It’s unclear if Microsoft knows something we don’t, but it’s also possible that there was some misunderstanding on their part about Wolverine’s release date.
