The sequel to Kerbal Space Program will enter Early Access next February.
The highly anticipated Kerbal Space Program 2 enters early access on February 24, 2023 and is available on Steam, the Epic Games Store, and other PC storefronts.
âWe are very excited to release Kerbal Space Program 2 in Early Access, as it will allow Kerbal fans to see for themselves all the amazing progress we have made to reach the final stages of development.â said Creative Director Nate Simpson. âThe essence of KSP2 is exploring, discovering, and adding boosters to overcome gravity.â
The sequel to the beloved rocket building sim, Kerbal Space Program 2 was built from the ground up to teach a new generation of players the fun of rocket science. Learn the basics with a new fully interactive tutorial, then step into the completely revamped Vehicle He assembly interface and combine over 350 new and improved parts to build the rocket of your dreams.
Combining engines, fuel tanks, procedural parts systems, and more, players can build planes, rockets, rovers, and ‘other creations’ to aid their adventures. Kerbal Space Program 2 also adds the ability to customize and paint your vehicle. that’s right. Now is the time to boldly go where Kerbal has never been.
During Early Access, players will be able to boot from Kerbin, explore the “pocketed and breathtaking” Mun, catch a glimpse of Joule’s green clouds, and explore the entire Carbora system.
All of these classic locations from the original Kerbal Space Program have been reimagined, promising new levels of realism and complexity thanks to new terrain and atmospheric systems.
After releasing Kerbal Space Program 2 in Early Access, Intercept Games already has many updates planned, including:
- Future Technology: Use new fuel and propulsion systems to travel far beyond the original Carbora system and into uncharted space.
- Colonies: Build your own base on the planet side or in deep space to manage power and habitation to sustain life on distant planets.
- Multiplayer: Cooperate or compete with friends to see who can build the best rocket.
Additionally, Intercept Games are planning to add mod support, making the game even more mod-friendly than the original.
