In keeping with Sims 4 tradition, the new High School Years expansion and accompanying free update broke many features in both the base game and other expansions. A new patch has been released that addresses some of the biggest bugs, including one that caused rapid aging and one that makes Sims want to date family members.
The infamous incest bug made its way into the game as part of the Wants and Fears system reintroduced from past Sims titles. An unrelated but similar bug that arose from a high school update that saw adult Sims tagging teenagers in inappropriately flirtatious posts on Social Bunny has also been fixed.
Another big bug caused by the update showed sims aging rapidly in games where the sims’ lifespan was set to long or short instead of the default normal lifespan. A full list of bugs fixed can be found at patch notes under.

- Sims with short or long lives no longer get younger or age dramatically when you finish creating a Sim.
- The “Want to be a girlfriend/boyfriend” desire now targets the appropriate Sims.
- Adult Sims no longer tag teens in flirtatious social bunny posts.
- All available Sims can now be selected for travel, even if they are not on the current parcel.

- Sims without fame will no longer appear to have it sometimes.
High School days
- Sims can now walk through the clutter pile in I Was a Teenage Garbage Artist.
