Being able to play basically any big game on a (relatively) small device is a great idea. What I like about Valve’s Steam decksHowever, the deck can be a bit bulky and its battery doesn’t last at times. So the idea of a new tiny handheld dedicated to streaming Game Pass and Xbox titles sounds great! However, the $300 price tag seems too high in a world where the Steam Deck and Switch OLED are roughly in the same price range.
Microsoft and Logitech announced today, the new G Cloud handheld game console is a tiny Android-powered device built around streaming video games. Ten years ago this would have seemed like a strange idea. Today, however, virtually any game can be streamed on most platforms. The idea behind this new G-cloud device is to leave out the tinkering and modding and give players a simple, fast and lightweight way to stream all the great games on Game Pass.
First, positive. Claiming a new Android device You’ll probably get better battery life thanks to the fact that you’re only streaming games, not running them natively. and boasts a stick layout. I also really like the look of the device. It’s a little smaller than the Steam Deck, so it’s perfect for people with smaller hands.
But here’s the problem. It’s the price.Pre-order now available G Cloud $300 That’s pretty high considering it’s basically a fancy Android phone with built-in controls, a big battery, and no ability to make calls. It supports the Google Play Store, so your mobile games and apps will probably work. And since it’s Android-based, it’s essentially moddable from day one. Still, $300 seems high for this.

With $10 or more, you can help hospitalized children get access to video games. You can also get yourself a sweet game like Lego Star Wars – The Complete Saga.
And it’s only now. The price jumps to $350 when it goes on sale on October 17th. That’s the same price as the new Switch OLED, just $50 less than the 64GB Steam deck.Well, it’s true that the Switch can’t stream the whole game pass librarybut with some tinkering, the Steam Deck can actually be done while playing (most) Steam games.
When I first saw G Cloud on Twitter, I was intrigued. It’s nice to have an Android app and a small device dedicated to cloud streaming Xbox Game Pass. But only…$200. At current prices, we recommend buying a new phone, an external controller for your current phone, or a Steam Deck instead.
