Marvel Snap, the very light and streamlined card game that some of the Hearthstone creators went next, receives perhaps the most requested feature today. It’s a battle mode where you can play against your friends and choose your opponent. Until now, Snap paired players based on ranking and skill, with no way to play with buddies.
Battlemode launches with cross-region matchmaking, Ben Broad at per Second Dinner (opens in new tab)also added “Here we gooooo”, and principal designer Glenn Jones provided an update on the update.
“New patch includes balance changes, but not Surfer or Zab” jones said (opens in new tab)“After locking changes a few weeks ago, they started performing better. Luckily, we were able to adjust the balance without a new patch. We’ve been adjusting these cards in a week or so. intend to do something.”
So not only does Snap finally have the mode people wanted, but going forward, developers will be able to live tweak card properties as needed. This gets interesting once it gets into the weeds because perceptions of card power are often different than what the stats indicate, but if second dinner simply doesn’t make any changes then it becomes something else that people bubble up on Killmonger.

Marvel Snap has been on a bit of a journey since its beta release last summer. This is his last major update before adding artist credits for the game’s card art. (opens in new tab), which is one of the big selling points and long awaited. The general feeling of this game is that it offers super fast and fun card battles and is bound by a super slow and grind progression system (opens in new tab)But being able to organize my Marvel Team-Ups in Battle Mode is something I felt I needed from the start, and I’m looking forward to showing off my absolutely filthy Spider-Man villain deck to all my buddies.
