The biggest mistake of Marvel’s Avengers is to want to be a game that can be played forever without providing the versatility to maintain such ambitions. All casts of that character across common names such as Captain America and Iron Man have an interesting combat suite, but reorganizing the Earth’s ultimate divine squad in a 10-hour campaign repeats the same activity. There’s nothing obvious that will continue, uh, Endgame..
The title has been significantly improved since the first PlayStation 4 launch, with two new characters and a mission branch, and the PS5’s 60 frames per second option to change the flow of gameplay. The purpose of seeing you protect the designated fortress while fighting the same enemy. All of these pursue strength-enhanced gear that doesn’t change the look.
Playing with friends and strangers, Sony’s next-generation consoles may look grainy, but the action is undeniably fierce. The DualSense controller has great support, and when you make a bigger attack than the real thing, the trigger rattles at your fingertips.
