Improved discovery with updated game cards, filtering and new collections
We’ve updated game cards throughout the app to provide more information and convenience. You can now see your game’s title and contextual metadata such as publisher, price, HowLongToBeat time, Game Pass start date, and Game Pass end date for upcoming games. All this information is displayed when you browse the game in the app. We’ve also made it easier to filter and sort your game collection and library with new filter options like accessibility features, game ratings, and a new sort option, HowLongToBeat. This way, you can easily find your favorite games or discover new games that suit your taste.
Speaking of finding new games to play, we have a new collection to help you find your next game. Want to play the games that are currently popular in your area? Check out our trending collections. We also have a new collection powered by HowLongToBeat. You’ll soon see collections such as ‘Take a Game Break’, which showcases games that take less than 5 hours to complete, and ‘Clear Your Schedule’, which showcases games that take a long time to complete.
New accessibility options and menus
Another important update focuses on integrating accessibility settings to ultimately improve your PC gaming experience. A new centralized location lets you customize accessibility settings, such as enabling or disabling animations and background images, and customizing the game’s browsing capabilities with accessibility features. Social at a Glance
Friends list, chat, and party windows can now remain open while in-game. If you have two desktops, just drag these windows to your non-fullscreen game desktop and see all your friends’ updates at a glance.
As an alternative to dedicated tabs, you can always see all your online friends at a glance with our streamlined friends list, which can even pop up on your desktop so you can always enjoy multiplayer gaming with your favorite people. Simply click on an active friend to open a chat window and start chatting while browsing your next favorite game.
It’s easier than ever to find and add new friends directly from your friends list. See everyone you recently played with in one click, or link your Steam account and invite your friends to join the Xbox ecosystem to play with you.
